What of that Elusive \"Thorn in the Flesh?\"
In 2 Corinthians 12:1-10, which the Apostle Paul makes reference to his thorn in the flesh--
Why is it that so many scholars think that the thorn in his flesh is his eyes (i.e. poor eyesight)?
What is the substantive evidence for this induction? Could it not have some deeper spiritual dimension in light of references to visions and revelations of the Lord? Or does references to infirmities provide the much simpler answer like that generally assumed? Any thoughts?
Anybody have any substantive thoughts or comments. Are their any accomplished Puritan and Reformed theologians that go off the beaten path in their explanation of the Apostle's thorn in the flesh?
Your responses are appreciated.
