I need some advise : i do not any greek, do you think that the abridged version is good enough to get good background information concerning word studies, or would you still advise me to het for $99 the 10 volume set ?

The link above is actually to the full blown version. I own the abridged version and find it very easy to use. I (not knowing greek) have tryed to use the link above, and find it somewhat difficult to manuver around. From what I know, the abridged version is easier to use that the 10 vol edition.

If I had to do it again, I would buy the 10 Volume Version while it's on sale for $99.

Dear Jeff, is it still worthy to buy the 10 volume set if you have already the abridge one ?

I would say that depends on how scholarly you are. If you have used the abridged version, you know that there are pages written on every word listed. For me (not a preacher, not a scholar) a person who loves theology, and desires to know the background of words for "word study" issues, I think the abridged is sufficient.

The reason I said I would buy the 10 vol. edition over the abridged is two-fold:

1) The price of the 10 vol. edition is the best I have EVER seen. Even CBD admitadly says that they have never offered it for $100.

2) I generally don't like abridged works. I like to read everything in it's full-blown form.

Right now, I own the abridged version, and have thought about upgrading. You could always sell your abridged version to someone here on the PB or on Ebay and use that money to go toward the 10 vol., or suffice with what you have.
