This fall I preached a whirlwind 4-part survey of the book of Exodus. I used a number of good and great commentaries. Unquestionably, preeminent among them is Hamilton's work. I was reminded of this because I decided to add commentary reading to my regular reading schedule and I've been reading his work from beginning to end. It really is wonderful. His writing is lucid, engaging, sometimes humorous, and he's very thorough. If you don't own it, you highly recommend purchasing it.
