On being more sorrowful for sin than for suffering (Willem Teellinck)

After we have identified specific sins for which we justly think the Lord is chastising us, we should be more sorrowful for these sins than for the suffering itself. We should diligently strive to forsake the sins that are causing us this grief more than we should strive to be delivered from this oppression.
