What are your thoughts on the Mises Institute. Do you think their policies/views are helpful and balanced, or not? Thanks.

Fairly standard Austrian/Randian/Libertarian/Classical Liberalism, from all I hear. Not my cup of tea.

I enjoy a lot of their resources.

Do you think there is a lot of economics material here that is broadly consistent with a Reformed position?

I don't think it is. There is a Anarchical bend to most of the material there. The standard position there is, "Whatever the market says is right." The standard Reformed position is that any violations of the moral law/Ten Commandments should be restricted.

To me this is the most blistering critique of Lew Rockwellian Libertarianism - The American Conservative -- Marxism of the Right

I rather detest the Mises Institute for the most part. Was invited to leave the Institute's forum for spouting socialist criticisms of their unethical economic ideals. I generally find Austrian economics have little to offer in terms of the most efficient or ethical way to organize an economy.

Judging by that Avatar, I would certainly assume so.:detective:

I find myself agreeing with them a lot of times, although I believe a christian couldn't go any further than defending a minarchy, which they despise as just 'less statism'.

But I do agree that most regulations to the opposite of what they're supposed to.
On the theological spectrum, however, I've seen articles defending that calvinism was a good starting point to have a good economy (because of work ethics and such) and defending medieval scholastic positions (on their brazilian website, they claim that austrian economics was born in Austria, a catholic country, because the scholastic tradition in this country was focused on the consumers, not the producers).
