iPod touch battery issue?

Okay...quirky question:

New iPod touch (3rd gen 32gb) here. When I try to charge the battery, the battery will appear full (green almost all the way to the end or all the way). However, it takes another 30 mins to an hour for the plug-in icon to come up, denoting a full charge.

Anyone else had this? Or do I potentially have a bad battery?

Don't worry, I think this is normal. I have experienced it with several apple products. If I recall , the literature says they nee a hour to fully recharge, regardless of the battery meter.

Wow.
I just had five people tell me theirs never did it so I returned it. I'm ordering a new one. It was the last day to return so I'd rather be safe than sorry
