Introducing Christian Doctrine: Erickson

Any thoughts on Introducing Christian Doctrine by Millard Erickson? Anyone here used this particular text?

It was the main text for my Systematic Theology class in Seminary back when I was a Southern Baptist. It is pretty much an abridged version of this:

It has been a few years but if I remember correctly, it seemed as if he was afraid to say what he believed. He kind of just gave all of the different doctrines and then moved on without endorsing one.

Erickson is an evangelical Baptist of a premillennial (post-trib) stripe (= historic premill). He considers himself moderately Calvinistic but that would be disputed by most of the members of the PB. He is a staunch opponent of postmodern progressive evangelicalism.
