My cousin just started at West Point and I am trying to help him find a good congregation to worship with.

Any suggestions on a good congregation near West Point, NY?

If he's a plebe, does he even have the ability to get off-site?
He's literally IN the army, once he's there, and he needs "leave" (i.e. permission) to go anyplace. As a first-year cadet, he's as low as a buck private.

That's why there's a chapel on campus.
If I'm right, he's not going to any off-site church for at least a semester, if not a year. And even then, he's going to need permission. I'd guess they start out with a radius-max.

There is ministry to cadets at WP; he's going to need to look for the best out there. I met former cadets who were pretty well-discipled.

I was not aware of that. I'll have to ask his parents more on that. I was just assuming after his basic training, and starting the semester he would be free like any other college students.

Pastor Bruce is correct. First-year cadets (Plebes) are not allowed off campus. This rule is true of all the military academies.

Absolutely not!

I don't think he'll be able to get off campus during his plebe year.

(Oh, I see you've already been informed of this.)

But there are some decent discipleship groups on campus. If your cousin is willing, he'll be fine.
