I have a suggestion that may help the board, though I don’t know how it could be accomplished tech-wise.

I think it would be beneficial to all if edits were somehow ‘tracked’ so the unedited post could be seen. There have been a number of times (I’ve noticed) when posts have been substantially edited either while people are responding or even after responses have been posted. I think this breeds confusion or worse.

Perhaps a rule could be implemented if the technical side is too difficult? Though I could see it being a difficult rule to moderate.

Just a suggestion, since I have noticed it being an issue recently.

Thanks.

Edits are tracked. If you edit a post after someone responds, the time of the post edit, and that it was edited, is labeled in the post that was edited. If a person responds to a post, that quoted portion or the entire original post is preserved in its exact detail in the response.

This is tracked but I guess only moderators and admins can see it. If it ever became an issue the history can be consulted.
