A father's desire

When our three sons were at primary and then into their teenage years I taught them to play golf. Normally, but not always, I would win when playing the older two but it has been 5 years since I last beat the youngest. We played a quick 9 holes this morning and he won 6 with 3 drawn.

As I reflect on this I hope the same may said spiritually. As I taught and trained them all in the scriptures, I pray they will become more spiritual, more devoted and wiser in the faith than I am.

A great prayer indeed. So much hurt comes from expectations of children to outshine others in this world, when what really matters is that the light of Christ shines within them.

A posterity shall serve Him.
It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation,
They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born,
That He has done this.
