I am currently doing some assistant work on a documentary about breast cancer. It is actually more of an educational video than a documentary, designed to be given to women who have been diagnosed to tell them what to expect and to offer ways to help. It is hosted by a two time breast cancer survivor Joyce Ostin Joyce Ostin - Welcome

The desire of the producer/director is to encourage women to consider the whole person in the treatment of their cancer. As a result she has interviewed several new age teachers. The producer explained that she believes love is an important part of healing, so she sought out the best teachers on love (those who sold the most books). She came up with (and interviewed) Deepak Chopra Home Page | Chopra Center Marrianne Williamson Marianne Williamson :: Official Website Kathy Freston Kathy Freston, Author, Conscious Living Counselor etc

However, the producer wants to avoid the idea that the film is pushing any particular view. So I recommended that she interview a Christian, and she agreed!

John Piper would be the obvious choice, with his "Don't Waste Your Cancer" but I contacted DG and was told he doesn't normally do interviews and he is currently on leave writing several new books.

So... Does anyone have any recommendations for a Christian (a knowledgeable pastor or theologian, especially one who has had cancer) to interview (especially in the SoCal area)? It's really an opportunity to say anything they want on the topic and to offer a Christian view of meditation, prayer, and God that will stand in contrast to the New Age perspective currently being presented.

This film has a very wide potential audience, so prayer and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
