Puritan Board Doctor
I read somewhere recently that, during the Civil War, the military leadership of both the North and the South agreed to not fight any military battles at Mount Vernon, George Washington's home.

I don't remember ever having heard this before. Can someone on the PB confirm this?

Our Puritan Board librarian comes through again! Thanks, Andrew!

Glad to of service, brother! :handshake: Mount Vernon is a beautiful place, I'm glad it was preserved.

Indeed, Mt. Vernon is beautiful, and yet...it felt like a home. I could see how George walked around the house, having dinner guests, working on the grounds...living there.

Maybe I'm weird, but I found the place restful.

I've napped on the lawn outside by the Potomac River in the warm sunshine on blanket. Very peaceful indeed!
