Interesting article occurring in my home State. Question open to all but specifically for a lawyer if we have one:

When does this form of persecution become a violation of the U. S. Constitution?

The situation is this: It's State workers on State tax dollars. We are not speaking of a public school battle WITHIN the walls of a State funded School between two religions like Christian creationism Vs. Epicurean evolution. Rather the active use of state funds (tax dollars, time and personel to investigate, on State time, a privately owned and funded institution.

Sounds like the state naturalists are going to get an education. I have no problem with them going to learn about their job. Many branches of the Government send people off to seminars and classes to learn their positions better. No big deal as far as I am concerned. I hope some repent. I pray God's glory is revealed by His creation to these guys.

The repent part and them getting a better education is one thing. But that lays within the individual realm of the citizen, the calling or vocation of citizen. Going as representative office of the state does not in anyway belong to that, it's a criss crossing of offices/callings/vocations. That's why a citizen, not even an off duty government official, can fake or wear a federal, state or local office garment, badge or other identity that identifies them as "office of the state/government" unless they are acting within that office.

I happen to know first hand a lot about government education within the government and seminars and classes are for the increase and betterment of their jobs immediately related to the expertise at hand. AND ALL are STRICTLY forbidden to have or relate to religious material. The one thing that can get you into immediate trouble in a State or Federal position is that or racism.

Look at it this way: How long would this last if a museum of Islamic or African history was built and a State agency, remember this is an agency of the State, financed a trip to it to visit it in order to "see what they are up against". And we are not talking about the FBI or CIA for purposes of national security.

I guess it depends on whether or not you think the Government should be involved with Religious life or not. Some on this board believe it ought to be, as in calling councils and such. Concerning the comparison of National Security and the Creation debate.... That seems like apples and oranges to me.

May Truth Prevail.
