I picked up the 5 vol set last week, and have been burning midnight oil ever since. Starting reading the 5th volume, and can't put it down. I've a number of these large sets from other authors, but rarely get into reading them. Dabney, however, is awesome reading.

Some other new books:

Gospel Worship-- Jeremiah Burroughs. Got this one for Father's Day. About 1/3 of the way through it. Good stuff too!

James I: The Fool as King-- Otto Scott. Looks interesting.
A Method for Prayer-- Matthew Henry
The Messianic Character of American Education-- R.J. Rushdoony

Where'd you buy them? :book2:

Local bookstore. The owner's shutting it down soon and was willing to match CVBBS.

Had to take advantage of it. Soon I'll be stuck with Lifeway and a few little Charismatic shops as the only Christian bookstores in town.:barfy:

What are Dabney's Discussions about?

Mostly essays and articles on a wide variety of topics theoogical and secular-- points of doctrine, philosophy, public education, the papacy, worship, the war between the states, book reveiws, biographical sketches, and even a poem that goes on for a hundred pages. Lots of interesting pieces like this--WOMEN'S RIGHTS WOMEN
.

Need to pick up the rest of Dabney's series; I only have secular and philosophical...

Cheers,
