I concur with this. Once upon a time, living in a liberal college town, this was the standard for radio. At least, back then, there were bursts of literate commentary & the occasional piece of classical music. Then, on one fateful day, they played an hourslong lovesong to the latest Star Wars film. I couldn't believe my ears, as the commentators spoke as if it were as real and as vital as any other news of the day, even more so. In the aftermath, I realized I would not be able to trust the news of reality from such people, whose hearts and minds were off in some galaxy far, far away.Think of a literate version of CNN. They are like the prostitute with standards.
Is it still around? I haven't thought of it in years.I would add the Drudge Report.
The religion forum has a history of being less than welcoming to solidly reformed folks. The rest of the site tends to be very well moderated.I like freerepublic.com
