The @VillageChurchTX’s worship team released a new single called “Walk With You” in light of the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s death. Written by @LaToriaMusic, @LaurenChandler, and @JeffCapps, the song was performed at the #MLK50Conference in Memphis.

Any thoughts on this song? I'm not sure if it's intended to be worship or not based on its title, but I think it'd be more helpful to consider the theology/message of the song. I'm divided, as it seems to bring up some good theological points, but I'm concerned with both how MLK Jr. seems to be assumed to be a good Christian man and the way its framed. I'm also not a fan of the concept of "microaggressions."

I am making a conscious desicion to steer clear of anything MLK, TGC, or The Village Church.
