Last night I read Thomas Manton's sermon at Christopher Love's funeral; I have never read anything by Manton before, and thought this sermon was tremendous and fairly easy to read. How representative is this of Manton's stuff?

That is a good recommendation; I may start reading his sermons on Ps. 119 when I finish Thomas Watson's A Plea for the Godly.

I am presently working through Manton on Psalm 119 for a sermon series I am doing on it and it is great. Manton is one of my favorite Puritan preachers and a helpful exegetical/commentary source. I also commend his sermons on Hebrews 11 which were invaluable when I preached through that chapter. Though sadly, he never finished it.
