Some in their zeal against Wokeism appear to have gone too far in the opposite direction. Thomas Guthrie of the Free Church of Scotland shows us a more excellent way:

... ’tis the purpose of Him who, our pattern as well as propitiation, divided his time between the interests of this world and the next; taught us to care for men’s bodies as well as for their souls, to carry a loaf of bread as well as a Bible to the houses of the poor ...

For more, see Thomas Guthrie on Christianity and social concern.

N.B. I am not sure if this forum is the best one for the post, though I was at a loss to know where else to post it.

It appears this link is not working.

EDIT: It's working now. Not sure what went wrong. All I got before was a message saying the page could not be found.

Could you perhaps give your understanding of the term “wokism”? Is it simple almsgiving and care for the poor or is it a militant works-based gospel that negates the true gospel and causes enmity and division among the brethren, or is it something in between?

Susan, what I am referring to is the tendency to read modern Social Justice theories into scripture.
