Thomas Aquinas, The Compendium of Theology

I picked up a recent translation of this book yesterday in a charity shop. Has anyone here read it? It looks like a summary of Summa Theologica or Summa Contra Gentiles.

It was translated by Cyril Vollert and was published by Book of the Month Club, New York.

Thomas produced it at the request of one of his disciples. I find it very helpful.

When studying Aquinas, the Compendium is a much better place to start than the Summa.

That would be the impression that I get. My copy of the Summa (volume 1) is in storage, so I have had to stop reading it. Hence, I think I will read the Compendium instead.
