I wasn't sure where to post this but I thought it would be worthwhile sharing the link to a synod lecture given by Rev Kenneth Stewart (Dowanvale Free Church of Scotland) on 'The Labour of Prayer: Lessons from Alexander Whyte.' It really is an excellent lecture and is very worthwhile listening to and sharing. Here's the link:
