My family and I read through Mark last night in one sitting, and if I had to sum up the big picture it was this:
1. Jesus performed many miracles empowered by God
2. Jesus requires faith to be part of the kingdom
3. Jesus requires 100% of the hearts of his followers as they follow him in faith
4. Jesus doesn't sit well with hypocrites
5. His death and resurrection is of the utmost importance
Indeed we see that Jesus said “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”, but its almost just assumed that the readers knew what the "kingdom" was about. In other words, the "kingdom" is the point of the Gospel, but there isn't much on the "Kingdom" as far as REASONS for it.
Anybody have any thoughts?
