I decided to post it because scholars and laymen seem to think John Walton is a savior for saying Genesis is not about creation ex nihilio and trying to return to ANE texts. Heidel, a half century or so before saw the same things in ANE literature that Walton sees but comes to a different and more satisfying conclusion.
