Anyone here at the PB into Southern Rock at all?

If so, what are some of your faves?

Personally I'm a huge Allman Brothers fan.

All of the above plus:

Outlaws

Little Feat (fusion)

Johnny Winter

Molly Hachet, Little Feat, and pre-commercial ZZ Top (Not sure if they really count as So. Rock though)

Who's old enough to remember these guys?

Funny thing about Little Feat - they were pretty much all from LA and Hollywood. Lowell George had played with Frank Zappa before starting Feats. But they sure had a southern rock sound.

I don't like Southern Rock

I LOVE IT.

All of it.
I hate to admit it but I even had a Black Oak Arkansas album. Now I suspect that Jim Dandy was actually a young Bill Clinton.

That's the rock music of my youth. Some of it I really regret listening to. Some of it I still like, a lot.

The Ballad of Curtis Lowe was one song that I drove my family crazy with throughout my misspent youth. I sang it all the time, and played it on my harmonica incessantly. The lyrics are idelibly burned into my brain. There are times when lost in mental absentia I will by default break out into it's chorus completely unawares. Even the "yessirs" are faithfully reproduced.

Scary.
