Once again, Scotland seeks to lead the way in intrusion into family life, much like the Named Person bill (Here), with a ban on smacking (Here).

Whereas currently, reasonable force is permitted to correct a child, the Scottish Government would consider correction, as one and the same as abuse and assault. There is no balance at all in their thinking. Scotland is in a very bad way politically.

Hmm, I read the title as smoking (as in tobacco) and thought our friends who hold to the RPCNA Testimony would be rejoicing.

And not to add any levity, but at first glance I seriously thought eating noisily in public was being banned...

It’s tragic, and ultimately, surely, the church and her members are the target.

New Zealand, tragically, banned smacking back in 2007.
What has been the result? Any arrests- any pushback?

Scotland is run by the Marxists of the SNP. Ironically, the modern Maoist SNP probably would not be doing so well electorally if more people had been smacked more often as children.

There have not been many arrests thankfully. There have been a few but not many that have been reported. A NZ family organisation, Family First, have been very helpful defending the rights of parents. They have some helpful information here.

The SNP's agenda here is to get children to report on their parents. Another example of people reading George Orwell's 1984 as an instruction manual rather than as fiction.

This is intrusive. It is leading to a cultural meltdown. Take discipline away and kids will get away with disrespect and worse.
