E. B. Pusey was the founder of what we know as the Anglo-Catholic movement in the Church of England (I have heard it said, though, that he was not as "high up the candle" as his subsequent followers). His commentaries, however, are supposed to be very good at refuting liberal arguments (especially the commentary on Daniel). For a discussion of this subject, I would point you to the relevant chapter in Timothy Larsen's study, A People of One Book (or see my review of it here).
