Puritan headcovering commentaries

I could have sworn there was a thread a year or two ago on Puritan commentaries that viewed the headcoverings from 1 Corinthians 11 as cultural. I cannot seem to find it.
 
I think the consensus would be to match headcovering to shoes, or perhaps dress fabric. Heh, heh. Duck, run ... ;)
 
Thank you for sharing this. I did not know that anyone prior to the 20th Century was concerned about the culture significance of head covering in Saint Paul's time.

The Church that we assist in southern Nepal was founded in part over the issue of head covering. The Church from which they separated started teaching that women should not wear a head covering in the Church; because that is the practice in Hindu worship. This caused a division. The group we now work with held that 1 Corinthians 11:10 could not be understood as specific to the culture of Corinth in Paul's time since it says "for the sake of angels"
