Psalms and the Reformation

I read or heard somewhere that it was the Psalms which drove Luther to Romans and precipitated the Reformation.

Anyone know where I can confirm this? I am currently on Psalm 15 and can see why this might drive you to Romans.

I cannot answer your question, but I have heard that the translation of the Psalter into Dutch was hugely impactful in the Reformation in the Netherlands.

I have often thought that there should be a study of psalmody in the history of Reformation (and other revival movements). There's nothing quite like getting God's people singing the psalms.

Psalm 32 would certainly drive you to Romans:

Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
