I noticed this today while reading this Psalm on the bus ride to work:

1. Fret not yourself because of evildoers;
be not envious of wrongdoers!

2. For they will soon fade like the grass
and wither like the green herb.

3. Trust in the LORD, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.

4. a. Delight yourself in the LORD,

b. and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5. Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him, and he will act.

6. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,
and your justice as the noonday.

7. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,
over the man who carries out evil devices!

Thank you for pointing that out Mark. I must admit I have never had a chiasm jump out at me from scripture unless someone pointed it out to me. Well done friend in finding that one, AND ON A BUS no less!

The Lord has blessed you with a great dose of concentration.

Have you read through the info on the John/Revelation project down at Knox? They point out an interesting chiasm in Revelation.

Blessings Mark

Enlighten me please.

What are you talking about? Never heard of it. Actually, seems I have somewhere deep in my memories, but can't pull it up.

Thanks

Do you have an online reference ? ? This sounds interesting.

Chiasm is a literary form that was coined based on the greek letter CHI (X) I believe.

Example:

a b c d e d c b a

Themes are parallel in ascending and descending opposed order.

It is hard to illustrate on this forum because tabs and spaces do not translate into bbcode.
