According to Psalm 2, God installs the Messiah as King and the Messiah is begotten. When was the Messiah installed as King? Does begotten mean that He was inaugurated? Why would He have to be installed as King if it is a divine attribute to rule and reign from all eternity?

Yes, He is king now but not reigning in hearts of most earth dwellers since the world lies in the lap of the wicked one (see 1 John 5.19). We pray: "Your kingdom come" as an affirmation (at least I do and think the meaning of the clause).
