We must keep in mind that Jesus taught both the I and U of TULIP in Caperneum to some very carnal followers. Yesterday's miracle was not good enough for today's faith for these "disciples," so our Lord taught on Calvinism (and the Supper) and few walked with him thereafter. Moreover, how mature were the saints at Rome, or Corinth for that matter? When Pauls declares the gospel in 1 Corinthians 15, aren't we to interpret his message as nothing other than particular redemption? When Paul gave the Romans "chapter 9," he did so with an attitude of "this is nothing new." After all, he underscores his doctrine with OT theology: Moses, Jacob, etc., rebuking those who will not receive this teaching. What about Ezek 36, and on and on we can go...
