Please Come to Boston -- Dave Loggins
It Never Rains in Southern California -- Albert Hammond & Mike Hazelwood

The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia -- Vicki Lawrence
Kokomo -- Beach Boys
Sweet Home Alabama -- Lynyrd Skynyrd

Definitely Psalm 60. It puts geographical localities in their proper place under the sovereignty of God.

Men's songs tend to be idolatrous, exalting some attribute independent of God.

Some of my faves, (and some admittedly obscure!)

Walking in Memphis - Marc Cohn, Lonestar, and definitely not Cher (ugh!)
Arthur's Theme - Christopher Cross
Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty
Copacabana - Barry Manilow
Do You Know the Way to San Jose? - Dionne Warwick
MacArthur Park - Richard Harris - and not Donna Summer! (growl)
New York's a Lonely Town - The Trade Winds
The Boy from New York City - The Ad Libs
24 Hours from Tulsa - Gene Pitney
Theme from Route 66 - Nelson Riddle
Canadian Sunset - Hugo Winterhalter
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Guy Mitchell/Mitch Miller). Now that's dated, for sure!

Cheers,
Jay

Atlanta - Stone Temple Pilots
North to Alaska and Battle of New Orleans - Johnny Horton
The Dam at Otter Creek - Live
Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle - Nirvana
California Blue - Roy Orbison
Over the Hills and Far Away - Led Zeppelin
America - Neil Diamond

Walking in Memphis - Marc Cohn

Yes, that's one of my favorites too!

And Maybe it was Memphis by Pam Tillis.

And I should also mention Frank Sinatra's version of New York, New York.

*Miami, My Amy -- Keith Whitley.

*Meet in the Middle -- Diamond Rio (I guess "neath that ol' Georgia pine", is a reference to the kind of tree more than the place, but it still seemed to qualify, I think.)

*Pretty much every song by Bobby Horton but especialy, Yellow Rose of Texas.

*My Tenessee Mountain Home -- Dolly Parton

Sittin' on the front porch on a summer afternoon
In a straightback chair on two legs, leans against the wall
Watch the kids a' playin' with June bugs on a string
And chase the glowin' fireflies when evenin' shadows fall

Chorus:
In my Tennessee mountain home
Life is as peaceful as a baby's sigh
In my Tennessee mountain home
Crickets sing in the fields near by

Honeysuckle vine clings to the fence along the lane
Their fragrance makes the summer wind so sweet
And on a distant hilltop, an eagle spreads its wings
An' a songbird on a fence post sings a melody

Chorus

Walkin' home from church on a Sunday with the one ya' love
Just laughin', talkin', making future plans
And when the folks ain't lookin', you might steal a kiss or two
Sittin' in the porch swing, holdin' hands
