John Owen was a great admirer of John Bunyan. He was responsible for getting Bunyan's [i:7f196add95]Pilgrim's Progress[/i:7f196add95] printed.
Once, King Charles II asked Owen why such a cultured and learned man as himself litened to the preaching of Bunyan, who earned his living as a tinker.
"Your Majesty," replied Owen; "I would gladly exchange my learning for the ability of that tinker to touch men's hearts."
Blessings,
Steve
