    That's pretty funny.

Back in 2009 I was at the UWash law school pursuing an advanced degree in tax law. I saw some of the younger students dressed up in what they thought was "period fashion" sitting around a Remington manual typewriter. A photographer was present. I guessed they were doing some sort of retrospective photo shoot for the school paper.

Then I saw one of the guys try to "load paper" in the machine. He had around 20 sheets of paper but he couldn't figure out where to put it. I stopped and showed him: one at a time unless you had carbon paper, and then probably no more than 3.

He sheepishly asked why one would want to use carboned paper. Thus another history lesson was triggered.

Now I don't think of myself as a relic, but I guess I am, I still have a working Remington at home, complete with unopened ribbons.
