Greetings. My name is Shari and I am a 52 year old believer from Pennsylvania. I was saved in 1984 and have a strong bent toward Calvinist teaching(s). I am a speech therapist and reading specialist; currently working in early intervention. I have two sons, Josh-28 and John-31.

I enjoy debating, reading/writing and photography. Looking forward to learning and sharing with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Remember Dr. Cook, "Walk with The King today and be a blessing".

Welcome to PB, Shari!

Given that you enjoy writing, is there perhaps a blog you maintain?

Among Calvinist readings, who are some of your favorites?

RC Sproul-Chosen By God; The Holiness of God; Grace Unknown

Currently reading Knowing Christ by Mark Jones and The Cost of Discipleship by Bonhoeffer

Favorite teachers: (Youtube) RC Sproul, Alistair Begg, John MacCarthur, Sinclair Fergusen, Voddie Baucham

Although I have been saved since 1984, it has only been the last five or so years that I really understood/embraced Calvinism; therefore, I am probably the least knowledgeable on this site.

As far as my writing(s), I just share them with friends on Facebook (gasp)...smiles.

I give that book away often to friends and others. I re-read it at least once yearly.
Love the Holiness of God; have read it and listened to Sproul teach on it several times. I have read all of CS Lewis' books (he was my favorite in my early twenties; Problem with Pain, Screwtape Letters and Mere Christianity- top three). I often listen to teacher(s) on You-tube; as well as, read... I read more in the spring/summer as I have less duties at work. I listen to teachings from Luther, Calvin, Augustine, Whitfield, Edwards, etc...; recently a biography on Tyndale. I have been studying diligently for the past four years (which makes me a fetus in comparison to you all). I am thankful to God He has illuminated the truth regarding TULIP, in His Word; in addition to, the myriad of life-long experiences which He ordained to make sure I was ready to receive, what otherwise, may be a difficult, nay impossible truth(s). It's not about us; it's always about Him... when one really understands, accepts, and walks in this posture of submission, God's Word becomes clearer and clearer. That has been my experience thus far :)

Hello and welcome! Although I've lived most of my life right here in Southwestern Ohio, I have deep roots in NEPA, about an hour or so from you.
