I joined the forum last fall and asked you all to pray about a possible upcoming move at that time. I just wanted to thank those who had prayed about my situation and to give you an update. We moved from Clearfield, PA to Bryan, TX 4 weeks ago. I'm going to be pastoring a small SBC church along with 2 other elders. This is somewhat like a church plant. As the church went through some issues, those in leadership saw the need for changes (like elder rule and church discipline, etc.) and, in the long run, most of the life-long membership ended up leaving and going to more "traditional" SBC churches in the area. What we have now is a small group of families and a few older folks with a new set of by-laws and a new vision of what the church is to be. Also, folks here are very open to learning more of what the Scripture really says and seem to be willing to have the understanding challenged when it is inconsistent with the Word, which is very refreshing and encouraging.
