What would be some good books for beginning in-depth study on the OT Minor Prophets? I kind of tend to skirt around them in my devotions and study, and I want to stop this hedging, since ALL of scripture is god-breathed and USEFUL. What would be some good commentaries or general books on the Minor Prophets?

One of the best things I have ever done in my Biblical studies was to read all of the minor prophets in one sitting. The only way to improve upon this approach for a study would be to reorganize your reading order into the proper chronological order of the actual writings themselves. They provide an incredibly rich resource for study.

For reference, if you are a decently fast reader, it will take about 5 or so hours to read the Minor Prophets thoughtfully.

"The Minor Prophets" by James Montgomery Boice is a good resource. I am reading it right now.

Overall, John Calvin, Matthew Henry, Matthew Poole, John Trapp, George Hutcheson, Patrick Fairburn, A. R. Fausset and Carl Keil are standard commentators to be consulted on the minor prophets. Edward P o c o c k on Joel, Hosea, Micah and Malachi would be useful if you can obtain that. Here are a few other particular recommendations:

Hosea -- Jeremiah Burroughs
Obadiah -- Edward Marbury, John Rainolds
Jonah -- Patrick Fairburn, John King, Hugh Martin
Habakkuk -- Edward Marbury
Haggai -- John Rainolds, T.V. Moore
Zechariah -- Ralph Wardlaw, E.W. Hengstenberg, T.V. Moore
Malachi -- E.W. Hengstenberg, T.V. Moore
