Jackson might not the the 'light of the world' but let us at least be slow to convict. I would like to think the courts got it right. He might not be 'innocent' on a lot of issues but that does not mean he is guilty of everything. Justice requires that one is punished for the crimes they do and found not guilty for the ones they do not do.

I find it hard to not be cynical whenever a celebrity is facing charges and is found not guilty.

The courts may have gotten it right, but I too am skeptical. Just some of the things he did with and around the kids wasn't right.

He was, however, court ordered to change his name to Michelle!

His story is the most amazing ever. He was born a poor black boy only to grow up to become one of the most famous white women ever!

If you know anything about paedophilia it is very difficult to believe that he is innocent of those charges. His behaviour is right down the middle with that of a paedophile.

And, there is a difference between the inability of a prosecutor to prove beyond reasonable doubt and innocence.

he is guilty - or he would not have a house full of dirty magazines and movies, like little boys to sleep in his bed with him, and stay over for WEEKS, have paid millions to settle claims from at least 2 other families, etc etc.

Romans 1 in living color.

This just proves again that people in general are stupid and that celebrities can get away with anything. I am glad God does not depend upon a jury of our peers to render righteous judgment!

:ditto: Not to mention living in "neverland!"

What's worse, is he's getting "free advertisement." It has been proven time and again that after a celeb has been in the news for anything, esp negatively, their price goes up!

I will be the first to admit I have not really paid attention to the case. I just believe that there is a point that we must listen to the courts even though miscarriages of justice do happen. He might be guilty of a lot of things - but can we be certain he was guilty of exactly what he was charged of? I do not know.

I also find it bad when famous people are let off for their crimes. This does not mean though that they are always guilty.

Justice will be done in the end.

I stand amazed. If O. J. Simpson can get away with killing his wife surely M.J. can get away with his little whatevers. California needs a lot of help. It needs Revival.

Not just California, but the entire nation, entire world! As we stand in our corner of the world, the "good ole USA"... we are devastated by what we see taking place. Hellywood, the sodomite movements, the antichrist in schools. But do you realize the USA is one of the most conservative countries? Most have already embraced the homosexuality and same sex marriages, not to mention the antichrist in schools!

Celebrity
(Brad Paisley)

Someday I'm gonna be famous,
Do I have talent, well, no.
These days you don't really need it,
Thanks to reality shows

Can't wait to date a supermodel,
Can't wait to sue my dad.
Can't wait to wreck a Ferrari
On my way to rehab....

Cause when you're a Celebrity
It's adios reality
You can act just like a fool
People think you're cool
Just cause your on TV.
I can throw major fits
When my latte isn't just how I like it
They say I've gone insane,
I'll blame it on the fame,
And the pressures that it goes with
Being a Celebrity

I get to cry to Barbara Walters,
When things don't go my way.
I'll get community service
No matter which law I break

I'll make the supermarket tabloids,
They'll write some awful stuff
But the more they run my name down,
The more my price goes up

Cause when you're a Celebrity,
It's adios reality.
No matter what you do,
People think you're cool,
Just cause you're on TV.
I can fall in and out of love,
Have marriages that barely last a month.
When they go down the drain
I'll blame it on fame
And say it's just so tough.
Being a Celebrity

So let's hitch up the wagons and head out west
To the land of fun in the sun
We'll be real world bachelors
Jackass Millionaires
Hey, Hey, Hollywood
Here we come!

Yeah, When you're a Celebrity
It's adios reality
No matter what you do,
People think you're cool,
Just cause you're on t.v.
...Being a Celebrity
...Yeah Celebrity!
...uh-huh

"Where's my coffee?"

Nutty as a fruitcake, and twice as crumby.

I don't know if he's guilty of exactly what they charged him with, or of just being a frootloop who thinks ordinary rules don't apply to him (in that, he is a whole lot like other rich celebs). Criminal conduct or no, what normal person sleeps with strange children? But from what I've gathered, the other family involved were nothing less than over-the-edge bizarre themselves. "Mom" (gold-digger) starts remonstrating hystrionically with the jury from the witness box, and in the middle of her testimony starts affecting a faux German accent!? How is this whole thing not a circus to embarrass us all. American Justice indeed.

The dissenting voice....

Mike's guilty of a lot of things, but paying close attention to him over the years, I don't think he's guilty. I think the courts got it right this time (I also think OJ was innocent, and no it's not a 'race thing') - the kid's mother pretty shot her own testimony to hades on the stand. The kids' testimonies were inconsistent. Some of the so-called 'bombshells' that the prosecution had (including Jackson's ex-wife).... told a completely different story. Sneddon's pretty much had a grudge against Jackson since before a decade ago and he's been trying hard to get him. I think he's also been a bit miffed since Jackson wrote a song about him a while ago (D.S.)

Sure, Mike had p0rn around his house (heterosexual) and photography books which featured pics of young boys (which, depending on context, could also be found in your average professional photographer's house) - that doesn't make him a pedophile. It means he does need help. It means he's just as much a sinner as everyone else and deals with lust.... just like everyone else. But from everything I've seen (even the decidedly slanted anti-Mike VH-1 'special' on the Secret Life of MJ) unless you're ready to say weirdness = pedophile - you can't say that he's a pedophile. You can say stuff he's done doesn't sit right with you. You can say that he makes you uncomfortable, you can say you probably wouldn't put your kids around him.... but that doesn't mean he's a pedophile.

Well.... on the flip side, I don't think that him 'getting off' is the best thing for him as a person. I know that Mike has issues where he does think he's invincible - just like a kid. And some sort of court-appointed mental evaluation should've been given to him (of course, being mentally disturbed isn't a crime). I believe Mike is emotionally stunted.... and even with his kids, two failed marriages, he's still a kid under all that. And his phyiscal age ( 45) and mental age (10) are starting to conflict more visibly with each other.

KERRY, I like your attitude that I used to have, that everyone is basically "innocent." Ie., we wish to believe the better of people. However, having dealt with child molesters throughout my ENTIRE life, I can assure you that pedophiles DO look normal! Some of whom I've come in contact with have seemed so normal it shocked EVERYONE when their SIN came to the light. And to look at the "evidence" AND his behaviour, I STRONGLY disagree. (I have gut instincts, but then you'd shoot that down too. but my "gut instincts" when so strong, have ALWAYS proven to be correct!) I'll give you that the stories we hear (not just on Michael, but literally EVERYTHING the news media shows us) is HIGHLY biased. Though I do believe he's guilty, I'll take what you said, and some others, and try to give him the benefit of the doubt.

In all honesty, only God, MJ, and those boys know what truly transpired. And God will have justice.

pedophiles DO look normal

LOOK NORMAL?? Then Mike ain't no pedohile and the jury was right. I take it all back. :p

Then again, a grown man sleeps in bed with little boys who are not related to him..........

duh.

I heard today that pedophiles prey on children from disfunctional families - easy targets and easy to discredit should it ever go to court! Looks like it worked this time judging from the mom who was so absolutely out of her mind to allow her children to SLEEP OVER with MICHAEL JACKSON.

When I said that I was refering to OTHERS... What used to be a "cute kid" has turned himself into a freak show! (OOPPPSSs, did I say that?>)

Who says I think everyone's innocent ?

I teach high school. I see Romans 3:8-20 every day - both staff and student. I've seen at least 3 folk get fired in the county for carousing with the underaged - one of which was a married man with an almost-teenage daughter - so I know how 'normal' folk can look.

I just pretty much said that I believe Mike is innocent based on the evidence. Weird, yes. Pedophile, no. Immature, yes. Lacking in common sense that having young boys sleep in your bed who aren't related to you is like hanging a neon bullseye on your back, yes. Fondler and molester ? No. I think, just based on observations, that if Mike were doing it.... he wouldn't be so forthcoming in acknowledging anything near it (i.e. - his statement "the most loving thing you can do is to share your bed with a child").

I personally would like to believe that Michael Jackson is guilty. Whatever you think about the sentence, however, he needs our prayers:

1 Timothy 2:1 "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men."

Yes, if he was guilty of what he was accused of I would say that he deserves the death penalty. But remember Manasseh? He was a terrible sinner who deserved to die but God had mercy upon him when he repented. May God give the same to Mr. Jackson.

I think I'm going to be sick! He said that? (I haven't been following the case that closely)... That is the sickest quote I believe I've heard! Now I believe more than ever he's guilty.

In context:

ED BRADLEY: That British documentary last February "” which you didn't like "”

MICHAEL JACKSON: Yeah, I didn't like it.

ED BRADLEY: You "” you said in that documentary that"” that many children have slept in your bedroom.

MICHAEL JACKSON: Yeah.

ED BRADLEY: You said, and "” and I'm gonna quote here, "Why can't you share your bed? A most loving thing to do is to share your bed with"” with someone."

MICHAEL JACKSON: Yes.

ED BRADLEY: As "” as we sit here today, do you still think that it's acceptable to share your bed with children?

MICHAEL JACKSON: Of course. Of course. Why not? If you're gonna be a pedophile, if you're gonna be Jack the Ripper, if you're gonna be a murderer, it's not a good idea. That I'm not. That's how we were raised. And I met "” I didn't sleep in the bed with the child. Even if I did, it's okay. I slept on the floor. I give the bed to the child.

ED BRADLEY: But given all that you've been through "”

MICHAEL JACKSON: Yeah?

ED BRADLEY: Given the allegations, given the innuendo "” why would you put yourself in a position where something like this could happen again?

MICHAEL JACKSON: Well, I'm always more cautious. But I will never stop helping and loving people the way Jesus said to. He said, "Continue to love. Always love. Remember children. Imitate the children." Not childish, but childlike.

and also:

ED BRADLEY: What about the allegation that some kind of intoxicating agent, said to be wine, was given to this child to make him more pliable?

MARK GERAGOS: Ludicrous. I mean it's ludicrous on its face. There are in excess of 100 employees at any one time at that ranch. There is full"”time security at that ranch. There are people who are there at all times, day and night, 24"”7, who are specifically instructed to make sure that people don't do that. The kids are nowhere near alcohol and liquor.

ED BRADLEY: You're a parent. You've got three children.

MICHAEL JACKSON: Yes.

ED BRADLEY: Would you allow your children to sleep in the bed with a grown man, who was not a relative, or to sleep in the bedroom?

MICHAEL JACKSON: Sure, if I know that person, trust them, and love them. That's happened many times with me when I was little.

ED BRADLEY: Would you, as a parent, allow your children to sleep in the same bedroom with someone, who has the suspicions and allegations that have been made against you, and about you today? Would you allow that?

MICHAEL JACKSON: Someone "”

ED BRADLEY: If you knew someone, who had the same "”

MICHAEL JACKSON: I'm not "”

ED BRADLEY: "”kind of allegations "”

MICHAEL JACKSON: Ed, I "” I know exactly what you're saying.

ED BRADLEY: "” that were made against you "” would you let your children "”

MICHAEL JACKSON: My children?

ED BRADLEY: "” sleep in that man's bedroom?

MICHAEL JACKSON: Mmm, if I "” if I knew the person personally. Cause I know how the press is, and how people can twist the truth, if I knew the person personally, absolutely yes. Absolutely. I wouldn't have a problem with it.

ED BRADLEY: Do you know how this looks to a lot of people? I mean, do you understand that?

MICHAEL JACKSON: How does what look?

ED BRADLEY: How the fact that you "”

MICHAEL JACKSON: Know why? People think sex. They're thinking sex. My mind doesn't run that way. When I see children, I see the face of God. That's why I love them so much. That's what I see.

ED BRADLEY: Do you know any other man your age, a 45-year-old man, who shares his bedroom with children?

MICHAEL JACKSON: Of course. Not for sex. No. That's wrong.

ED BRADLEY: Well, let me "” let me say, from my perspective, my experience, I don't know any 45-year-old men, who are not relatives of the children, who share their bedroom with other children.

MICHAEL JACKSON: Well, what's wrong with sharing your bed? I didn't say I slept in the bed. Even if I did sleep in the bed, it's okay. I am not going to do anything sexual to a child. It's not where my heart is. I would never do anything like that. That's not Michael Jackson. I'm sorry. That's someone else.

CRINGES!

Someone needs to enlighten Mr(s) Jackson that MOST sexual abuse cases happen by someone the family not only knows, but trusts!

Second, he's lying. There, I said it. The man is full blown rapist! Yes, I'll say that, I've thought it before, but I must say that there is NO doubt in my mind whatsoever! :barfy:
