This is a 1953 movie of the German Reformer. It is in a large part historically accurate. It shows Luther from a purely theological and a scholarly perspective. I think this was and is necessary so that his principled stand could be understood.

Anyway it is a good movie. The only draw back is that since it was made in 1953 it will have some drawbacks in the sound department.

Niall MacGinnis did an excellent job as Luther and the gospel flowed continuously throughout. What is good about this movie also is that it is a mere 1:44 minutes in length so there is no room for boredom.
