Make use of the means of grace when you have them, like today! James Durham on Rev. 1:12 (from a 1653 manuscript of lectures of Rev 1-12, not from the published commentary): "It is a very ill token when the understanding of the Word may be heard [had?], for the turning of our foot about (as it were) and that from one Sabbath to another, folks will not turn them about to hear, nor step off the calsay [street, paving] in ? at the church door. Ye that are guilty of unnecessary withdrawing and can walk up and down the street rather than come in to hear the Word, though it be at our hand, God and ye will compt [reckon; account] for it."
