I found a newspaper clipping from 1936 that calls him such. The article is an interesting piece of history.

In 1936, the group that would become the OPC left the PCUSA and took the name Presbyterian Church of America (believe it or not!). A lawsuit from the PCUSA led to a search for a new name, eventuating in the "OPC" three years later.

In 1973, the group departing from the PCUS (the Southern Presbyterian Church) took the much better name, the Presbyterian Church in America.
