I'm studying Spanish and I'm looking for music with Spanish lyrics to help with that.

Preferably contemporary, not rap/hard rock. The lyrics need to be discernable, that's kind of the point. :)

If you have any suggestions of good artists/albums, please post.

Thanks!

I like the band Reik. Their albums Reik and Secuencia are good and have helped me with my Spanish. There are also Christian artists Jesús Adrián Romero and Alex Campos - both pretty good and with discernable lyrics, especially Romero. All of these have done wonders for my Spanish comprehension. Type "Jesús Adrián Romero" on YouTube and you'll get a lot of results of live performances with good quality recording.

Fernando Ortega has Spanish songs - not sure if they're his own work or not. Can't give any titles either - I've listened to them, but not having any Spanish, all I can really say is that they're musically very pleasant!

What's wrong with the One Semester of Spanish Love Song?

And let's not forget the second compilation, the Second Semester of Spanish Love Song... classic hits I tell ya.

I listen to those all the time! I've got to remind myself how not to speak Spanish!

Try the early Salsa stuff...particularly from Fania. Look for Ruben Blades, Willie Colon and Hector Lavoe.
