Last night I began lecturing through Manton's sermons on the temptation of Christ. The first lecture is historical and biographical, and is entitled, "Who Was Thomas Manton?" Details here.

Seems like the site is down right now, but I look forward to reading (or hearing?) what you've posted.

I remember reading that book, and how blessed I was from the experience. I remember it was during the time when I finally decided to leave Calvary Chapel, back in 1997. It was actually a difficult time for me. And Thomas Manton was a good friend to me then. I think it's that book I found the quote, "The sovereign dominion of God is a great prop to our faith" -- which was a great comfort to me.

May God bless you as you and your congregation go through this book.

I listened to the audio. Thank you for posting that.

I wish I didn't live so far away from your church -- I would certainly love to take part in these studies.

Lecture 2 on Matthew 4:1 is now online. The theme is good of Christ's temptation for us.

The audio and .pdf outline of lecture 3 on Matthew 4:2–4 is now online. The theme is Christ's first temptation.
