Welcome Burt.
You will learn a lot on here. I learn something everyday.

I am from clear over here a few blocks from your church. In fact Providence PCA met in the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian in downtown Lubbock...until the building was sold. We now meet (believe it or not) in the Seventh Day Adventist building on Elgin and 54th because...they don't meet on Sundays anyway.
Wow, thats probably way more info than you expected with a simple hello but you know how we are in the Giant Side of Texas.

Fun Humor for anyone who has visited or lived in Lubbock:

State Tree: Telephone pole
State flower: Tumble weed
State Bird: Bat
State insect: Fire Ant

Look over yonder, thems rain clouds!.... bad call, thems dust clouds

An evening in Lubbock fills the nose with the aroma of stock yards.

AWWW you only smell the cattle when it is about to rain.
We love the smell... because we need the rain sooooo badly.
It is a fair trade.
Lubbock is an acquired taste, some say a great place to LIVE but you wouldn't want to visit.

I heard Bono from U2 say on TV that one of the great things about music is that it can get you out of places like Dublin, Ireland and Lubbock TX. But that is Natalie Maines thinking.

I like to think we aren't flat and empty...we just have more heaven over us than anybody else.

Actually, I did enjoy my time in Lubbock. Its the place you love to hate. They do have a fantastic Cajun food joint called Jazz. The Best!
