Daniel, how did you find the sermon? Roberts' Broken Spirit and his The Christian's advantage both in life and death are high up on my reading list.

Jon, it was good; anything by Francis Roberts is worth reading. The sermons by Roberts on EEBO are usually fairly short.

He says some profound things in passing in his work on the covenants about the Scripture in Corinthians where Paul says "all things are yours, whether life or death. . ."; drawing out what it means that even death is for believers (he notes at the outset we tend to want it to NOT be ours). I'm assuming he fleshes this out even more in his funeral sermon on the same text. I'm also hoping one day to get some originals of Roberts works (early editions). A 17th century copy of his Mystery and Marrow is at the very top of my list for my covenants collection.
