Friday's games turned out nicely (at least for Todd and me). An amazing offensive shootout; an overtime game, and a snowstorm. Great college football (except, perhaps, for the Big 12 defenses). Someone mentioned the Egg Bowl last week. It does get an honorable mention for the most hits in a game.

Heads up so you can start picking early: Next week is playoff weekend, and the Friday conference games will be on the list. It will be the championship games (looks like 11 of them) and the best fillers I can find (Stanford/Cal will be back on the list). Still trying to track down where the SWAC championship will be played. One source said Birmingham, another said at Alcorn (Lorman, MS).

I suspect Edward of witchcraft. The only reasonable explanation for his dominance is that he is consulting with demonic spirits. Either that or the rest of us are lousy. I refuse to believe the latter, so the former must be true!

It's easier than that: I'm a conspiracy theorist. When you approach things like this with that understanding, you know the results of many things are rigged. Then it is just sorting out which ones and in what direction.

I recall a few years ago, watching a Tour de France leg. A rider was doing much better than he was supposed to. An official car pulled up beside him, suddenly juked to the right, and bumped him off the road into a barbed wire fence. Took care of that issue. You see it all the time in NASCAR races - someone put into the wall or spun onto the apron. One driver complained about it in the media. He was called in for a lecture, followed by a semi-recantation that he didn't want to mess up things for everyone. He got with the program and kept his mouth shut after that.

If you assume that it's happening with any major sporting even (inexplicable calls by a coach or by an official), then it all comes together.
