Winning a week gets you into the final round of the bowl games. Winner of that has to run the contest next year. Winning multiple weeks only helps you by perhaps keeping someone out of the final.

The Reverend Mr. Phillips takes sole possession of the lead with his counter intuitive pick of the former VPI.

I had lost sight of the fact that GT had the Thursday game, and took a business associate by the Varsity for a very late lunch (3 pm). I noticed folks setting up to tailgate when we left and it finally sank in. No wonder we had trouble getting hotel rooms in the area for Thursday night.

Va Tech has won 5 out of the last 6 against Ga Tech. Wasn't that much of a stretch.

I'm in the odd position this week of congratulating myself! Both John Lanier and I had 13 correct picks - we (as everyone but Tim Phillips did) chose Georgia Tech incorrectly to beat Virginia Tech, and then exchanged one other error - I chose Navy to beat Western Kentucky, while John picked Ole Miss to defeat Alabama.

In the tiebreaker, we both correctly called the OSU-Wisconsin game for OSU, but ... well, I got the score exactly correct, at 31-24 for the Buckeyes.
