A friend sent this to me, I thought it might interest some of you:
I realize that Tim Keller is THE NAME in church planting these days but note the New York Times story about him and this large (4K+) PCA church in NYC. This is a very complimentary article in a "œsecular paper." Keller is one sermon I analyzed about 9/11 and that particular sermon has become part of a collection of the top 25 sermons in the US"”this guy is good without giving up any substance!!
Keller´s focus is intellectual, theologically orthodox, not "œflashy" or performative"”along the lines of the seeker churches"”and he focuses on serving the community rather than on "œevangelism." Keller has some great insight for us to learn from, I think. I especially liked his comment about trying to gain influence and power without first serving.
