This is the one put out by Eerdman's that is paperback, looks like this:

I have 4 or 5 of them and was wondering whether it was worth going ahead and completing the set. In other words is there anything deficient about this particular set that I should caution against?

I have the complete set and like it a lot. The Gospels are a little hard to sort through since they are "harmonized" and thus out of order. But that's the way Calvin wrote them apparently, so I guess I can't really blame the publisher. So yes, I would think it's worth getting. :2cents:

Thanks my concern was since they were "edited" by Torrance that they may be a "Dynamic Equivalence" instead of a "Literal" Translation.

I just checked again - it looks like a literal translation, though I haven't seen any other versions to compare. I think the "editing" is simply how they arranged the books, to make the volumes more or less equal size: Romans and Thessalonians in a volume, John 10-21 and I John in a volume etc.
