Benedict Pictet on the mysteries of the Trinity and the Incarnation

We readily allow that there are mysteries in scripture which surpass our comprehension, and which we shall not perfectly understand even in heaven. At the same time, we maintain, that we have as much of these mysteries taught us, as is useful and necessary to be known. For instance, we do not comprehend the mysteries of the Incarnation and the Trinity — that is, how it can be, that there are three persons in one essence, and how God assumed human nature: but though the manner is unknown, the thing itself is plainly taught; which is all that is necessary to salvation.
