Early this morning I received an email receipt from Apple/Itunes/app store for a purchase at @ $100.00 and change. So I clicked on a link to 'report a problem' and was taken to what appeared to be the Apple website.
I hadn't even made coffee yet, but I xed out of it. To make a long story short, after a cup of joe I went to the app store, my account, purchased apps.
The app shown in the receipt wasn't there. A bit of searching for 'Apple app store scams' yielded results that assured me I had been taken to a bogus web page impersonating Apple.
Had I typed in my password I would have been on the way to revealing my personal ID info to the scammers.
Be careful 'out there'.

I get about one a week. Look at the origination e-mail address (not the mask) and you'll see that it's a phony. I don't even bother reporting them to the phishing department any more.
